Who We Are

We are all indebted
to each other.
We're here to serve.

The Indebted Project is a student-led organization built on a simple belief: young people should not inherit a broken system in silence. We exist to expose government corruption, demand accountability from those in power, and fight for justice — hosting events, raising awareness, and advocating for the communities who need it most. We are not waiting for permission to speak up. We are already doing it.

"There is a particular kind of rage that comes when you realize the government meant to protect you has been selling you out. We carry that rage — and we turn it into action."
What We Do

Three pillars.
One mission.

01

Community Building

We connect activists, students, immigrants, and everyday citizens into organized, powerful networks capable of creating lasting change at every level of government.

02

Government Accountability

Through legal advocacy, public records campaigns, and direct action, we expose corruption and demand the transparency that democratic institutions owe their people.

03

Justice & Equity

We advocate for those who bear the heaviest cost of corruption — hosting events, amplifying voices, and fighting for policies that protect immigrants, people of color, and low-income families.

Community rising up for justice and accountability

"Corruption is not a victimless crime. It is a daily tax paid in silence by communities with no seat at the table."

About Us

We exist because
silence costs
too much.

Our Mission

Justice is not given.
It is demanded.

The Indebted Project exists to pull back the curtain on the systems that have failed the people they were built to serve. Governments misuse public funding, redirect resources away from communities that need them most, and operate behind closed doors while the public foots the bill. Corporations exploit legal loopholes, consolidate power, and prioritize profit over people — often with the quiet approval of the very officials sworn to regulate them. We name these failures. We document them. We refuse to let them be forgotten.

Exploitation does not happen by accident — it is the result of structures deliberately designed to keep certain communities without power and without recourse. People with disabilities, Indigenous communities, low-income families, and those already pushed to the margins carry the heaviest burden of institutional neglect. The Indebted Project stands alongside these communities not as an outside voice, but as an organization committed to amplifying the demands they have always been making — for rights, for resources, and for recognition.

We act on this conviction through direct community support, public events, and advocacy campaigns that put real resources in the hands of underprivileged people while holding those in power accountable. Because justice is not a privilege extended to the few — it is a standard owed to everyone. Our mission is simple: level the playing field, close the gap between those with power and those without it, and build a world where no community is left behind because of who they are or where they come from.

Radical Transparency

We hold institutions to the standards of openness and honesty that they claim to uphold. Everything we do, we do in public — because sunlight is the best disinfectant.

Community First

Every decision we make is grounded in the needs of the communities we serve. We do not lead from the top — we build from the ground up, with and for the people most affected by injustice.

Intersectional Justice

Corruption harms everyone, but it does not harm everyone equally. We center the most marginalized — immigrants, people of color, low-income communities — in every fight we take on.

Long-Term Change

We are not interested in quick wins that disappear. We build durable coalitions, legal precedents, and community power that outlasts any single campaign or election cycle.

Community members marching for justice

"We didn't start this project because we had all the answers. We started it because the questions could no longer go unasked."

— Founders, The Indebted Project

Our Story

How we got here.

2026

The Indebted Project Is Founded

A coalition of student activists, community organizers, and advocates come together after witnessing systematic corruption go unchallenged. The Indebted Project is born — a student-led movement committed to exposing government failures, fighting for marginalized communities, and demanding the accountability that institutions owe the public.

Our Issues

The fights
that matter most.

Corruption is systemic, and so is our response. We work across interconnected issues because justice cannot be siloed.

Advocates at rally

"The issues we fight are not separate — they are threads in the same fabric of systemic injustice."

Immigration Justice

Protecting Immigrant Communities

We fight deportation abuses, inhumane detention conditions, and the exploitation of undocumented workers. Every person deserves dignity regardless of immigration status.

Police Accountability

Reforming Law Enforcement

We demand transparency in policing, accountability for misconduct, and community oversight of the institutions that are supposed to serve and protect — not harm.

Anti-Corruption

Government Transparency

From city hall to federal agencies, we use FOIA requests, legal action, and investigative partnerships to expose corruption and force accountability in public institutions.

Economic Justice

Fighting Predatory Practices

Corrupt contracting, discriminatory lending, and exploitative municipal fines disproportionately drain low-income communities. We fight back with policy advocacy and legal intervention.

These are your fights too.
